Welcome To CITBM Canada – Chartered Institute Of Trucking Business Management

CITBM is a not-for-profit, professional association that was formed to professionalize and regulate the business aspect of trucking. The institute also governs the activities of its members in the field of trucking business operations and management, trucking dispatch operations, trucking business information technology, trucking safety and compliance management.

The trucking industry is a broad spectrum of logistics and transportation, with vast arrays of interconnected activities. Trucking is one of the most regulated industries in the North America, and a much more complex business than many people realize when they first get into it. However, there is no formal independent body to provide a structure for and regulate the business aspect of this complex industry. Unlike other regulated professions like real estate, insurance, law, accounting etc. which all have education and testing requirements before you can begin operating in such a regulated business - trucking has no such preliminary requirements. This vacuum in the regulation of business aspects of trucking that the Institute was formed to fill.
